Singapore increases large event capacity to 75%, reduces travel quarantine

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has announced a ‘decisive step forward’ towards living with COVID-19 in an address to the nation on 24 March. In performance venues, the capacity limit for larger events rises to 75 per cent, marking a significant change for the performing arts sector.

Mask-wearing outdoors will no longer be compulsory. Changes will take effect from 29 March.

The Prime Minister confirmed that Singapore will concurrently ease cross-border travel ‘substantially’ and testing and quarantine requirements for travellers will be ‘drastically’ streamlined, he added, noting that a simplified Vaccinated Travel Framework will let Singaporeans travel abroad ‘almost like before COVID-19’.
