Opera North and Phoenix Dance Theatre reimagine Mozart Requiem with partners from South Africa

Opera North and Phoenix Dance Theatre have teamed up with South African partners Jazzart Dance Theatre and Cape Town Opera to present a captivating reinterpretation of Mozart’s Requiem as part of the LEEDS 2023 Year of Culture celebrations. 

This innovative production combines Mozart’s choral masterpiece with a newly commissioned piece by South African composer Neo Muyanga, showcasing the powerful physicality of the two contemporary dance ensembles.
