Gabrieli Roar seeks partners for Christmas 2022 project

Gabrieli‘s latest Roar project, scheduled for the beginning of December 2022, will be built around the spectacular polychoral Christmas music of Michael Praetorius (1571-1621) as a belated celebration of the composer’s 400th anniversary.

Gabrieli Roar is a partnership between the leading choir and period instrument group, Gabrieli, and a network of diverse British youth choirs. Roar challenges young singers to perform side-by-side with Gabrieli’s professional musicians and immerses them in the renowned energy of the group’s performances and recordings.

The latest project will again unite Gabrieli musicians and ambitious youth and school choirs, but with the further aim of collaborating with many younger singers at an earlier stage of choral development. A series of workshop days will culminate in a public performance in a major UK cathedral.

Gabrieli is inviting expressions of interest for the new project, which aims to celebrate partnership in music education and to help create new long-term relationships between organisations including schools and music hubs, sharing expertise and building permanent local support networks.
