University of Cambridge Choral Awards Open Day
The 2022 Choral Awards Open Day will take place in person on Saturday 23 April (09:45 – 18:00) and is aimed at students in school year 10 and above.
The day will consist of group singing sessions with Cambridge Directors of Music, designed to give participants an idea of the skills needed for choral singing, and how to develop them, as well as an overview of what a Choral Award audition might be like, and how to prepare.
There will be a talk from an Admission Tutor, giving information about what it’s like to study at Cambridge and how to prepare an application.
Current student members of Cambridge chapel choirs will be on hand throughout the day to chat informally to participants; there will also be a more formal question and answer session with students and Directors of Music.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet informally with Directors of Music, and the day will end with a rehearsal and Evensong, to which parents and carers are invited.
