Salisbury Singing Break

A chance to come and sing the Trinity weekend services at Salisbury Cathedral (Evensong on Saturday; Eucharist and Evensong on Sunday) with like-minded people, to learn and sing a rich variety of music, and work with a skilled director and organist.

The repertoire list includes music by Stainer, Wood, Byrd (in his anniversary year), Joanna Forbes-L’Estrange and Richard Shephard. Music will also be sung in memory of former RSCM staff member, Martin How, who passed away last summer.

This course is open to experienced adult choral singers working at least RSCM Silver Award level or equivalent (which expects a reasonable level of music reading and independence as a singer); and places may be limited in some voice parts to ensure a balanced choir. Singers will be asked for a brief summary of their choral experience on booking. Some of the music will be made available to singers in advance on RSCM Choral Coach (our interactive online practice tool for singers), to help prepare for the weekend.

The course fee includes an evening meal on the Saturday. Singers will need to arrange their own accommodation and other meals.

The course starts with coffee/registration from 10.30 on Saturday, with rehearsals starting at 11.00. The course ends after Evensong (16.30 service) on Sunday.
