Traveling to an international choir competition in Portugal has always been on the bucket list of many singers worldwide. “LISBON SINGS” offers the ideal opportunity to fulfill this wish.
Portugal’s largest university, the Universidade de Lisboa, opens its doors during this time and becomes the center of choral music – with competitions in various categories, numerous concerts and individual consultation rounds for the participating choirs, offering a full and varied musical program to participants and visitors during the festival days.
There couldn’t be a better time of the year to sing with us in Lisbon: according to legend, the warm, clear days often seen in early November in Portugal are caused by St. Martin’s act of charity, making this period also known as “Verão de São Martinho”, the Saint Martin’s Summer. That means, when the days in Northern Europe are getting colder, Lisbon still sees pleasant temperatures.
