UK Choir Festival returns with dates in Manchester and Brighton

After an absence of two years the UK Choir Festival (UKCF) has announced its 2022 season with events in May and June in Manchester and Brighton, with further dates to be announced.

Launched in 2016, UKCF aims ‘to support, train and bring choirs together in a supportive and non-competitive setting where people can learn, develop and thrive’.

Created by producer and musical director Russell Scott, the festival combines workshops and performance opportunities and is designed for choirs of all abilities, ages and styles, including local community choirs, a cappella and barbershop groups, school or university choirs, gospel choirs and choral societies. At the end of each day, choirs can perform in front of a panel of workshop leaders who give each choir written feedback.

In 2022, UKCF workshop leaders will include Nicholas Cleobury, James Davey, Carla Jane, Craig Lees, Charles MacDougall, Rachel Mason, Ben Sawyer, Katie Thomas and Mat Wright.

UKCF producer Russell Scott said: ‘I am thrilled and excited to be bringing back the UK Choir Festival in 2022. We have some new and amazing things this year as we return to normality, giving choirs the opportunities to learn from the very best workshop leaders in the UK in a supportive and fun environment.’
