Naomi Belshaw takes over as Three Choirs Festival Association Vice Chair from Clare Wichbold who is stepping down from the board, having being involved with the festival for over thirty years.
Belshaw has worked in various roles across the music industry from Classical Account Manager for PRS for Music, Grants and Programmes Manager for PRS Foundation and PR Executive and PR Manager at WildKat PR. She has extensive experience across a broad range of areas within the arts, including funding, publishing, licensing, royalties, PR and marketing.
Naomi joins Three Choirs ahead of the festival’s return to Worcester in the summer of 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival did not take place in 2020, the first time it had been forced to cancel since World War II. After a challenging year, planning is underway for this summer’s festival with programme details due to be released in the coming weeks.
Dr Alexis Paterson, Three Choirs Festival Chief Executive, said: ‘I’m delighted that Naomi is joining our board and know that her expertise will expand on and complement the skills of our existing directors. While this is a difficult time for all arts organisations, Naomi joins Three Choirs at a crucial point in our development and I look forward to working with her as we plan for an exciting future.’
Naomi Belshaw said: ‘I am excited to be joining the board of the Three Choirs Festival, a festival with an amazing musical heritage, with fantastic dedicated staff and volunteers bringing world-class music to the cathedral cities of Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford for more than 300 years. It speaks to my passion for the future of classical music, as well as my interest in archaeology and history, having previously studied Christian archaeology in the Middle East. I look forward to where this organisation is going and how I can be part of that journey.’
