DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nAward-winning vocal group ORA Singers has opened applications for its fourth national Young Composers’ programme – a free scheme aimed at developing the skills of young composers from UK state schools.\n\n\n\nThe programme offers each of ten young composers ten hours of one-to-one mentoring with professional composers, who will help their proteges write a new choral piece to be performed and recorded in concert by ORA Singers at the Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester in July 2023.\n\n\n\nDuring the scheme, Young Composers have their ideas and sketches workshopped by ORA Singers, who offer specialised tips and advice along with a guest composer.\n\n\n\nThe 2023 Young Composers scheme will also offer up to 40 Apprentices an opportunity to fast-track their skills in composition through a series of online, in-depth workshops, and will gain invaluable insight into the world of professional composition by hearing from industry experts.\n\n\n\nApplications\n\n\n\nThe application deadline is Monday 6 February 2023.
